Jose Pepper's and The Portrayal of Latinos in The Food Industry

Jose Pepper's is a Mexican style chain restaurant that has a few locations in the Kansas City area, that was established in 1988.  We changed the advertisement for the Jose Pepper's 25th anniversary by switching the word 'established' to 'racist since' 1988. The logo for the restaurant is a man, with a sombrero, mustache, and bullets across his chest. We made him from sitting calmly, to an angry seeming person that is holding guns. The added on saying "Let's Celebrate By Upgrading To An Even More Offensive Logo" makes fun of the anniversary advertisement, by suggesting that they celebrate with more racism. Our changes bring out the stereotypical aspects of Jose Pepper's.
